New TCRG Case Study on Heated Tobacco Products
at
A new case study from the Tobacco Control Research Group brings together the Team’s research and monitoring conducted to date on heated tobacco products (HTPs). The page examines the global evidence on HTPs, assessing to what extent it supports tobacco industry claims that these products are a “better alternative” to cigarettes, and discussing the implications for public health and policy.
Dr Sophie Braznell, lead author of some of TCRG’s research on HTPs, explains:
“HTPs are relatively new in the tobacco market but have actually been around for over two decades now. As the evidence base has grown, so too has our ability to critically appraise the claims of Big Tobacco. If you’re a policymaker, researcher, health professional, or anyone interested in HTPs and their role in public health, this essential reading will help inform your understanding.”
